End-to-End Fiber Optic Infrastructure: Supply, Civil Works, and Network Commissioning
Africa Progress is one of the DRC's most experienced operators in fiber optic infrastructure — a capability built over nearly a decade of major backbone and metropolitan network projects. Our integrated offering covers the full deployment lifecycle: trench excavation and civil earthworks, conduit and duct installation, fiber cable pulling and splicing, optical distribution frame (ODF) assembly, network testing, and ongoing preventive maintenance.
We have successfully executed large-scale underground fiber projects along the Kasumbalesa–Lubumbashi and Kitutu–Kalole backbone routes, as well as metropolitan network rollouts in Lubumbashi and Goma for BKM — totalling several hundred kilometres of installed infrastructure. We also have proven experience in FTTx aerial pole installation in Kinshasa, demonstrating our ability to adapt to both urban and inter-city deployment environments.
Beyond installation, we offer structured maintenance contracts that guarantee defined response times for fault detection, cable repair, and network restoration. Our technical teams are equipped with OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) test sets and fusion splicers, enabling precise fault localization and rapid splicing repairs in the field. We also provide consultancy services to telecom operators, ISPs, and enterprises planning to extend or upgrade their fiber networks.
